A gift that looks like a bouquet until they discover it is a coaster.

Hui crochets each disc in cream granny stitch, about 14.5 cm across, with a ruffled carnation about 8 cm wide and a leafed green stem worked into the center. Fold the disc into a cone, tie it with the matching leaf cord, and it holds its shape like a wrapped stem. Unfold it flat under a mug.

  • Folds into a mini bouquet: wrap the leaf tie around the cone and hand it over looking like a fresh-cut flower.
  • Unfolds into a mug rug: lies flat and ready the moment they want to use it.
  • Soft acrylic yarn: folds without creasing, wash after wash.
  • About 20 g each: light enough to tuck into a card or gift bag.

How do I wash it?

Hand wash in cool water below 40°C, do not wring, and lay flat to dry.

Does folding damage the yarn?

No. The yarn is soft enough that folding it into a bouquet shape does not leave creases.
